Information Gatekeepers Inc.
(IGI) has announced three new updates to their selection on ROADMs. These are completely updated reports, from the same series and author
who forecast that the wavelength selective switch (WSS) would become the
"gold standard" of ROADM approaches and that edge applications would
become prominent drivers of the ROADM market. These have both happened in the

This report, written as a companion report to the other two ROADM reports, "ROADMs — from the Core to the Edge," and “ROADM Components," focuses on the sea change resulting from the introduction of the ROADM functionality at the network’s edge. This report is especially relevant given Verizon’s use of edge ROADMs — as forecast in the predecessor to this report — for FiOS. Like the other reports, it provides discussions of technology, forecasts, vendors, and applications, but all focused on the edge ROADM.
